About Genesis Dream Studios

If you're a soul sad enough to know the name "The Kyuber" (pronounced 'The Cube-er') or "Darien", then there's a small chance you've heard the name "Genesis Dream Studios". Still confused? Don't worry, we are too.

Formerly known as the Genesis Dream Team, "Genesis Dream Studios (GDS)" first came together in 2020 by a group of passionate friends who (more or less) enjoyed Sonic games, yet just wanted a bit more. Along with "Flow Plex", our one and only coder, I am one of its Co-Founders. Since that day he found me online, our group has grown ten-fold. Some day, we'll be able to say the same about our productivity.

Our first passion project; "Sonic Refreshed" has been in development for over four years (maybe even five, I can't remember). It was intended to be a spiritual successor to "Sonic Mania", the 2D, 16-Bit inspired SEGA game released 2017, made mostly by talented Sonic fans. However, our game has evolved so much over the years, that it has become entirely its own thing. I'm so excited to share the ideas we have with the world, but I'd be lying if I said I haven't been slacking.

Over time, we've talked more about expanding to different, original projects. There are one or two still in very early production. I won't say much, but I will say is that you should keep your eyes peeled, yet don't trust everything you see.

I'm not sure if anyone else from the group has said something like this, but I'm going to say it right now on this web page I may forget to update for years. I promise that when we present anything from the game- heck, any project from GDS, as long as I have a say in it, I will make sure that what we're showing is both accurate to the game at the time of presenting and that it will only be shown if we think it is good enough for the world to see. That is The Kyuber Guarantee. Honesty and Quality. They seem to be strangely hard to come by these days, but for as long as GDS and I can provide them, we will.
